KURATIST is a bag and accessories brand with a casual vintage vibe whose mission is to provide products that inspire everyday individuals to enjoy life’s little moments more. 

We believe that life is a journey, and from the way we work to the products we deliver, we make sure there is spring in our footsteps, pride in our crafts, purpose in our pursuit, and sunshine in every little detail.

With a strong creative pursuit desire and deep yearning for meaning in her work, Heidi Floeth founded KURATIST in Hamburg, Germany in 2015 and discovered her ‘ikigai’ — or reason to get out of bed, according to the Japanese — besides her family.

What began as a side hustle, making phone cases out of cute fabrics and selling them at crafts fairs, soon turned into a full-time family business, allowing her and her husband to leave behind their sales jobs.

Accessories made of natural, vegan materials including leather alternatives that are not PU were rare, so Heidi sourced 100% cotton and a sustainable paper material that is washable and looks like leather for her first product line.

What motivated Heidi to go vegan on KURATIST products is to avoid harming animals. She is not vegan, but is mindful about animal exploitation in the industry and therefore chooses not to work with leather.

KURATIST started with tech accessories, but now includes bags and accessories designed for practical, everyday use in happy colours and joyful details. Vegan cork leathers are used in addition to natural fabrics in the products.

We also focus on fair and respectful work with our manufacturers. When it was time to outsource our production last year, we took the time to find skilful artisans who love their craft, and work with them hand-in-hand in providing sustainable and fair paid jobs and working conditions. 

This led us to Thailand, where Heidi was born and raised, where all KURATIST products are crafted lovingly since Summer 2018.

Our products are available through the KURATIST online store, on Amazon.de and Etsy.com and we deliver to Germany, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Gibraltar, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
